Privacy Policy

Dearly ("we", "us") is a couples app made for two people who want to know each other better. Your answers are intimate by nature, and we treat them that way. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash, never readable by us).
• Your content — answers to questions, photos you add to your Journey, your character design, and preferences you set in the app.
• Relationship link — the connection between your account and your partner's, created when one of you redeems an invite code.
• Purchase state — if you subscribe, our payment partner RevenueCat tells us whether your subscription is active. We never see your card details; payment is handled by Apple or Google.
• Waitlist email — if you joined our waitlist, just the email you gave us.

What we deliberately don't do

• We don't sell your data. Ever, to anyone.
• We don't show ads or share your content with advertisers.
• We don't train AI on your answers or photos.
• We don't show your private scores to your partner — some things in Dearly are yours alone.

Who can see your answers

Your answers are visible to exactly two people: you, and your partner — and your partner only sees them after the reveal rules are met (both of you have answered). Photos in your Journey are stored privately and are only accessible to the two of you. Access is enforced by row-level security in our database, not just by the app.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider). Subscription events are processed by RevenueCat. Both process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

Your rights

• Access & export — you can request a copy of your data at any time.
• Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and all associated content. Because Dearly is shared between two people, deleting your account removes your answers and photos, and unlinks the couple.
• Correction — you can change your name and email in the app.

Notifications

Daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You can turn them off in your profile or in your phone's settings at any time.

Children

Dearly is for adults in relationships and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy we'll update this page and note the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
